Why Story?
The reason why I emphasize story so much in Instagram captions (hint: I actually emphasize story in ALL kinds of copy) is that it’s the perfect vehicle for exchanging information in a digestible way. Since the dawn of time, we’ve used story to make sense of our world, to communicate with one another… to BOND with one another.
Appealing through story appeals to our deeper emotional sensibilities while also cutting through the online noise and helping us digest information easily.

1. What IS that bigger WHY behind what you do? {hint: dig deeper beyond the surface level reasons why}
2. When was a moment you almost quit your dream? Why didn’t you? What can you really share here for inspiration for others in those moments?
3. What is a hilarious story about you from childhood that really illustrates the type of brand you are now?
4. How did you get started with your business? What’s the origin story? What were some of the early struggles? How can you use this message to empower your ideal clients?
5. What are the words you live by? What is your favourite affirmation or mantra? WHY does this have such an impact on your business in terms of your values?
6. Speaking of, what are your core ride or die values?
7. What is a quick win that you can give to your audience regarding education or value that you typically only reserve for your 1:1 clients?
8. What is a common misconception about the work you do? Break it down for your audience.
9. What’s something your audience doesn’t know about you and your brand and would be surprised about?
10. What’s something you really believe that may be considered an ‘unpopular opinion’ about the work you do and your industry? Why is this important?

I know that it can be challenging to always feel like you have the right words to share – but remember, using story as the vehicle for really sharing the greater value and lessons that you’d like to share with your audience, so they know the pieces of information they need to to be primed for your offer or product!
