The Manifesting Generator in Human Design

A subtype of the Generator, Manifesting Generators (MG) are the multi-passionate doers of the world according to Human Design. With their magnetic nature, anything that is meant for an MG will enter their world for them to respond to.

What’s Human Design All About?

Human Design (HD) is a spiritual tool that looks at various spiritual traditions and modalities, including the positioning of the planets when you were born, to create a map of your body and how energy flows within it (aka your ‘BodyGraph’).  Your HD Bodygraph is like a map of your soul that shows you how you energetically function, how to make decisions best, how you learn best, how you will most effectively have your message heard, the greater themes you’re going to face in life, and the greater role you’re designed to embody in the collective.

Your human design type is determined based on the particular balance you have of defined and undefined energetic centres. Based on your energetic design type, there is a big picture energetic role that you’re designed to play in the collective:

1. Manifestor: the great ideators meant to create big-picture visions for society
2. Generator: the busy bee builders of society
3. Manifesting Generator: multi-passionate creators of society
4. Projector: guides of society
5. Reflector: the mirrors back to society

MGs: The Multi-Passionates

Born to do things differently, MGs love to skip steps or bounce around between their many passions and interests and are really not designed to follow a linear path. This differs from a typical Generator who is very methodical and enjoys following and creating step-by-step processes.

It’s very common for MGs to have multiple passions and interests—in fact, their power comes from embracing the many things that they’re passionate about rather than trying to define their multifaceted nature into any one thing. As long as the MG is doing things that their gut (sacral centre) has given them an affirmative YES to do, they can do do do all day.

MGs are designed to completely use their energy before the end of the day so that they fall into bed pleasantly exhausted and satisfied at having done the right things for them.

MGs make up roughly 32% of the world population.

Motor-to-Throat Connection

One of the defining characteristics of an MG that makes them different from Generators is that they have a motor-to-throat connection (MTC). A MTC is an energetic channel that moves the physical energy of the body towards the throat where it can be acted (aka manifested) upon.

While MGs are designed to RESPOND like Generators, they have this special MTC that means they can actually act upon urges and nudges they receive, so long as their gut (sacral) is on board and gives them a Yes response.

This makes MGs a unique blend of Generators and Manifestors.

Typical Strengths and Challenges for a Manifesting Generator

Like every type in the human design kingdom, none is better or worse. Each energetic type comes with its individual strengths and challenges. Here’s what is unique to the Manifesting Generator:

Strengths:

• Typically, they are very charismatic, likable, warm, and magnetic people because of the magnetic, open nature of their aura
• Their multi-passionate nature means that they can dabble in many interests and share them in a cohesive way
• They’re energetic beings – because of their defined Sacral centre, the MG is typically very energetic and can get alot done in a day so long as they are doing what is aligned and right for them

Challenges:

• MGs love (and are designed to) skip steps and do things differently- but with this comes the fact that sometimes they may skip necessary steps and have to back track
• Typically, sacral beings (i.e., Manifesting Generators and Generators) have been conditioned not to trust their gut as a viable means of decision-making. But this is actually how they’re designed to live! It can take alot of intention and time for Manifesting Generators to begin to tap into and trust their sacral response
• Others may take advantage of their boundless energy if the MG doesn’t put up boundaries
• They may bypass their sacral (gut), telling them to stop and keep going and burn out their energy.
• Their environment is very important to them – being in the wrong environment will be detrimental
