One of my favourite parts about human design as a self-awareness tool is just how rich and deep it goes. Most people look up their type and stop there, but there are so many other elements of your chart that can support you in all areas of living your soul-aligned, purposeful life. Today, we’re exploring your profile and what it says about you, your learning and sharing styles, and the roles you’re here to play in this life.
If you’ve stumbled upon this post and you don’t know about human design yet, start here.

Your human design profile reflects many things, including the archetypes you play in this lifetime and the ‘costumes’ you may wear along the way as you fulfill your purpose. Your profile also reflects your natural learning and sharing style, helping you understand how you should take in and share information with others to feel the most ease, flow, and connection.
It’s important to understand that your profile, just like everything in human design, isn’t a strict box, category or label – in fact, folks with the same profile could have radically different designs in other ways. Rather, your Profile is a fantastic lens through which to view and a tool to use in your life. If you’ve ever found yourself wondering why your life feels the way it does, or you face the same blockages over and over again, then your profile can reveal quite alot to you.

Your human design profile consists of 2 numbers separated by a slash (/). The first number reflects your conscious side of your design, while the other represents the unconscious side. The conscious side of you is likely aspects that you readily and more clearly recognize in yourself, whereas the unconscious may be parts that you don’t see quite as clearly or readily in yourself. When these 2 sides come together, they create your human design profile.
Your profile reflects:

There are 6 total ‘lines’ that make up the profiles – every profile includes 2 of these lines, but the meaning of those lines individually is also insightful, so let’s start there.
Now that we have the foundation for what each of these lines means individually, let’s look at how they come together to form the 12 possible profiles that make up the human design system.

There are 12 total profiles in the human design system. You can find yours on your human design chart. Once you know it, continue reading as we break down each profile.

Though you may feel like you’ve gone through alot of ups and downs in life, this is how you have learned all that you have.
You learn through the trial and error process, allowing yourself to make discoveries based on what you stumble into almost accidentally. The trial-and-error experience of your life will likely be the most intense in the first 30 years of your life.
