What Is a Vision Board?

A popular buzzword in the online space? Yes. But vision boards are SO much more than just a fad… in fact, vision boards are a powerful manifestation tool.

In this blog post, I’m going to share with you what exactly a vision board is, and how it can help YOU with creative work and manifestation.

What Is a Vision Board?

A vision board is a collection of imagery, messaging and words that you intentionally collect together to inspire and envision your future. Either physically done as a poster board, or digitally on Pinterest, a vision board is something beautiful to create to align yourself with your goals before a new season – like a new year!

There are some who roll their eyes at the vision board concept, and that’s because they think it’s a matter of slapping up images and hoping things will change or come into your life just by sheer will.

Here’s the thing: vision boards are not a magic potion. There’s serious mindset work that comes along with creating and LIVING the vision board so you can genuinely bring these things into your life.. such as taking big scary actions, being open to signs, and leaning into the loving energy of the universe through meditation and manifestation.

Think of your vision board as your dreams for the year ahead… it’s your space to declare those dreams – to have these dreams front of mind for you as you continue through the year. To even let yourself DREAM beyond what you would typically allow yourself to.!

Your vision board will be like a compass … reminding you what YOU’RE looking for in your life – rather than getting caught up in others’ ideas of what living a good life looks like.

What Should Go On My Vision Board?

Here’s the thing: there’s no right or wrong way or necessary items to include on your vision board… it’s YOUR vision and dreams for YOUR life!

That said, I suggest gathering imagery, words, phrases and affirmations that reflect the goals you have for your life in ALL areas that are important to you, such as:

• health + wellness
• business + career
• love + romance
• community + family
• travel + leisure
• hobbies + interests

How Do I Get Started?

Begin by flipping through some lifestyle magazines, exploring Pinterest, and beginning to gather imagery and words and quotes that inspire you. You don’t necessarily have to know WHY you like these images yet – simply allow yourself to get curious and play.

From there, your creativity can guide you in how you wish to group these images together, thematically.
