Developing a healthy, strong, resilient and positive mindset is one of the greatest gifts you could give to yourself as a creative entrepreneur. When it comes to developing a positive mindset, having healthy habits and routines to guide you along the way is really helpful: think of this set of practices as the lighthouse that will guide you through the stormy days.
One tip I want to give you before we dive into these healthy and productive mindset habits is this right here: the best way to develop a new habit is by tacking it on to an existing habit. For example, if you want to be better about skincare, you may decide to start washing your face and moisturizing twice daily. The best way to make this a habit would be to link it to something else you already do twice daily, like brushing your teeth and doing them simultaneously.
It’s all about making these new, empowering and healthy habits almost effortless because they’re so ingrained in your daily routine. So now, let’s dive in!
This has to come first, in my eyes, because as a transformational mindset coach, I truly believe that awareness is the first (and sometimes the most challenging!) step to sustainable change. Unfortunately, as humans, we’re really resistant to change, as we tend to like sticking with what is comfortable and familiar (even if that is a toxic or harmful habit or thought pattern!)
Raising awareness is the first step. Once you have that awareness and feel ready to dive deeper, the time to question those thoughts will arise. This doesn’t come naturally to us as people, often caught up in our ego’s narrative rather than our soul’s. But actually being able to question your thoughts, rather than believe them… that’s where the magic happens.
Byron Katie’s method, The Work, is my go-to recommendation when it comes to questioning your thoughts. You can explore The Work completely free right here.
In the wise words of Katie…
“Pain, anger, and frustration will let us know when it’s time to inquire. We either believe what we think or we question it: there’s no other choice. Questioning our thoughts is the kinder way. Inquiry always leaves us as more loving human beings.”
– Byron Katie, Loving What Is
I’m a big believer in the old saying, “You can’t pour from an empty cup.” When you’re a creative business owner or coach, constantly taking care of others and helping others, you must start your day by filling your own cup first.
This is the whole reason why mindset coaches like myself are always telling you the importance of a morning mindset routine.
This can look entirely unique for you and what lights you up.
Whatever makes you feel good and fills your cup is worth spending the time on first thing in the morning because it allows you to pour more fully into others for the remainder of the day!
Here are some examples of activities that could be part of your morning routine. Keep in mind, these are simply here to inspire… you can pick and choose what aligns most with you and pick things that aren’t even on this list – do you, love!

How do you talk to yourself? Is it with love, empathy and kindness? Or a harsh, critical, mean tone of voice?
Trust me, I get it. I’ve worked through tons of episodes of being ruled by that harsh inner critic. That’s why one of the healthiest habits for your mindset is getting into the habit of practicing words of kindness (in how you talk to yourself and others) and using affirmations to help you move forward!
An affirmation is simply an empowering mantra or phrase you give yourself when you encounter your inner critic, are in low vibes, face a limiting belief, or are dealing with a case of imposter syndrome!
AFFIRMATIONS WORK! When I first started with affirmations, I began with the affirmation “I am enough,” and it was honestly so hard to believe at first. However, within a matter of months, with daily practice of my affirmation and embodying it into my life, I believed this so thoroughly that I challenged my mindset even more and began with the affirmation, “I am more than enough.”
Today, I believe that absolutely wholeheartedly. In the moments when I need to be reminded, I have my affirmations in my back pocket.
This is harddddd I know… but sometimes, one of the best things you can do for developing a resilient and positive mindset is being able to recognize when something is out of your control and surrender to the outcome.
What’s key here is to recognize what is and isn’t in your control. Control, again, is something our ego loves. But in reality, there’s not much in life we can control… but what we can control is ourselves, our reactions and what we choose to prioritize.
I know this can be hard, but I think it’s one of the most significant pieces to accept to thrive in the online space as a mindful business owner.
“The simple intention to surrender control is all you need to experience miracles.”
– Gabrielle Bernstein

This has been one of the most critical shifts for me in my journey to developing a more resilient and positive mindset. While I love a good Netflix binge or movie night, I consistently choose books over TV, social media, or other forms of digital entertainment whenever possible.
There are a few reasons for this. First, as entrepreneurs, we’re on our phones, social media, and computers all day. In my free time, my computer is the last place I want to spend time (as much as I love and appreciate my computer… which is allowing me to sit and write this to you today!). It’s good to give our eyes and minds a change of scene.
Too much time on social media is one of the biggest triggers for feelings of shame, comparison, and other low-vibe mindsets that can actually inhibit your success as a business owner. That’s why one of my greatest suggestions is to limit your time as much as possible on social.
I’ve also realized that I personally feel much more rewarded and enriched in my life from the books I read. Again, it’s not that I don’t enjoy watching TV and movies, but books to me are always more worthy time spent. I can learn more about a new skill, immerse myself in a new world; the possibilities are endless.
Again, this isn’t to say that I would ever recommend you omitting these other forms of entertainment! It’s just all about being more mindful of our consumption to protect our energy.
One of the best and healthiest habits you can develop for your positive mindset is knowing and recognizing when you need extra accountability and support.
I don’t believe that every entrepreneur always has to have a coach. But sometimes, recognizing we’re in a growth or challenging period where we need that accountability and support can be one of the greatest gifts we give ourselves.
I’m a transformational mindset coach absolutely obsessed with giving my fellow creatives the tools, resilience, and relationship to their intuition they need to truly thrive in the online space. As a mindset coach, I can support you in breaking free from limiting beliefs and comparisons, grow your confidence, help you reconnect with your intuition, set empowering boundaries with yourself and others, and more. So whether you’re looking for the accountability of a complete 1:1 coaching program or would like to work through an intensive 1-month together, I’m here to support you and your individual goals!
Every day if possible! Even better, morning and evening!
Journaling is one of the most effective mindset habits you could have. You can write freely, use guided prompts, or mix it up every day, but having the space to explore your thoughts is one of the most essential steps to developing a resilient mindset.
There’s something so compelling about writing down our thoughts. It can…
a) stop a story you’re playing out in your mind, causing you to really take a moment and ponder if this story is really true for you or if it’s simply a story you’re telling yourself (or an external narrative you have adopted)
b) allow you to explore the thoughts that are occupying valuable brain space for you…
Journaling allows you to… * Rewire limiting habitual ways of being * Give spotlight to your intuition’s voice * Provide a solstice of self-care * and develop a resilient mindset
These journal prompts are here to guide you when you need to dig deep into your own resilience and self-love.
