We all want it: the ability to turn our readers into buyers with one simple phrase… While the art of copywriting comes down to much more than that, it’s never a bad idea to have some powerful copywriting phrases in your back pocket. This blog post contains 3 of my favourite copywriting phrases to convert readers to buyers.
Before I share these, I need to know that you’re going to use these special magical copy phrases responsibly! So I have to share 2 cautionary words with you:

I’m assuming if you’re reading this, you like me, are a soulful creative. I believe in operating from a space of empathy, and that really reads well to fellow soulful creatives within your copy. We all want to feel seen and heard. We all want to know that the person we are considering working with has the experience to lead us through this journey.
Showing your empathy in your copy also touches on the know-like-trust factor: the three essential elements you must develop to really see a customer’s conversion.
I know it can feel scary, but I encourage you to get as vulnerable as you can in your copy to connect from a significant place. When it comes to sharing vulnerability, I recommend to my clients that they stick with the rule: “share your scars, not your wounds.” Meaning, it’s empowering and helpful for other people to learn from your vulnerabilities and struggles once you have experienced them and can pull something impactful and helpful from them to share and teach others. But when you’re in the thick of something, I encourage you to let yourself feel that how you need to feel it, rather than necessarily jumping to share it. It’s not helpful for others at this stage, and the most important thing for you to do is heal through it.
I love challenging the status quo, as do my amazing copy clients... and let me tell you, we have fun with the copy in this way! Think of the industry you’re working in: what is something about what you do or what you offer that really goes against the status quo?
For example, one phrase I love using in my copy for my own business as a copywriter and mindset coach is: “What if I told you that there is never just one way of doing things: just YOUR way.” There’s a lot of noise in the online space implying that there’s only one way to be “successful,” and I’m passionate about breaking that narrative. I love to cut through the BS that implies you’re not whole or not enough if you’re not buying into someone’s coaching offer. I want my clients to come to me already knowing they’re worth but that they need a hand to guide them through the process of reaching their next level with mindset + copy! That’s why I speak to them in this way.
When you’re writing your copy, you want to be speaking directly to your ideal clients and how they want to be spoken to. Tell them what they need to hear… (hint: it’s likely what a past version of you needed to hear, too!).
But even in my example, you see that I’m challenging the status quo. I’m challenging the narrative that they are probably tired of hearing… the one that implies they’re not enough or that they’d be lost and broken without me.
Empower. Empower. Empower.
The above are just examples, but I want you to leave a lasting impression in your copy (in your own style) to really affirm to the reader that you are ABSOLUTELY the one for the job. Make them feel comforted, held, seen, heard. Make them feel CONFIDENT in you as their choice.
The best way to do this? Be confident in YOUR gifts and share that in the copy. Let them know that YOU’VE ABSOLUTELY got what it takes, and they can rest assured when they work with you.
